About the Course:
The Art and Its Contexts online art history course prompts us to explore various forms of art in multiple contexts such as abstraction, mathematics, politics, religion, and pedagogy, ranging from prehistoric to contemporary art.
Instructor: Sohee Koo
Sohee Koo received a doctorate in Art Education from Columbia University and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. She has extensive teaching experience in higher education as well as other professional organizations including Teachers College, City College, Pratt Institutes, and MoMA. She has chaired and presented her research at numerous conferences including National Art Education Association (NAEA), College Art Association (CAA), and Foundation in Art and Theory in Education (FATE). Her articles were published in Visual Inquiry: Learning & Teaching Art and Routledge/Taylor & Francis among others.
