Program Manager (Part-Time)
AHL Foundation is seeking a Program Manager (Part-Time) to join our team and support the organization’s dynamic programming. This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the art community while gaining valuable experience at a growing nonprofit. The Program Manager will play a key role in implementing programs, managing operations, and collaborating with artists, curators, and partners. We are looking for a highly organized, proactive candidate passionate about advancing Korean contemporary art and community engagement.
- Hours: 16 hours per week, in-person at the gallery, $25 per hour
About AHL Foundation
Founded in 2003 by Sook Nyu Lee Kim, AHL Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization dedicated to supporting Korean and Korean-American artists in the United States and promoting exposure of their work in the competitive contemporary art world. Our mission is threefold:
- To identify and promote talented Korean and Korean-American artists in the U.S.
- To provide these artists with resources and a platform for further artistic development.
- To host educational, cultural, and artistic events to raise public awareness of contemporary artists of Korean heritage.
AHL Foundation accomplishes its mission through exhibitions, workshops, artist studio visits, museum tours, art history courses, and public art showings. All of our programs are open to the public and aim to build a supportive community for contemporary artists of Korean descent.
Key Responsibilities
Program Operations & Administrative Support
- Provide logistical and operational support for all projects, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
- Assist the Director with grant-related tasks, including gathering and reviewing materials.
- Provide general support to the President and assist with greeting visitors as needed.
- Support installation/de-installation processes as required.
Marketing & Communication
- Draft newsletters and manage the creation and uploading social media content.
- Write press releases and distribute promotional materials for events and exhibitions.
- Website management
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in arts administration, museum studies, or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and their operations.
- Knowledge of digital marketing tools (e.g., MailChimp, Canva, etc.).
- Previous experience working with artists, curators, or arts organizations.
- Fluency in Korean.

Internship
The AHL Foundation is currently accepting applications for an internship position. Qualified candidates will be contacted when the position is vacant. We are seeking an intern with a strong work ethic, who is responsible, organized, and open to assisting our organization in various capacities. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in both the non-profit and contemporary art worlds. Interns are expected to work 6-8 hours a week. A monthly stipend will be provided.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting staff with developing social media content and other promotional materials, including graphics and press releases.
- Helping build a database of Korean contemporary artists active in the United States for the foundation’s Archive of Korean Artists in America (AKAA).
- Assisting with foundation events, both in-person and online.
- General upkeep of the office.
Qualifications:
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in both English and Korean is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, etc.) skills are a plus.
- Academic credit can be given.
Compensation for the internship is $16.5 an hour.
