Biography
Sun K. Kwak is a visual artist born in Seoul, Korea and lives and works in New York City.
Kwak has had her solo exhibitions including at Charles B. Wang Center at Univ. Stony Brook in 2016, NY, Gallery Skape, Seoul Korea in 2015, New Art Gallery Walsall, the UK in 2010, Brooklyn Museum, NY in 2009, Queens Museum at Bulova, New York in 2001 among others.
In group exhibitions she was included at National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung, Taiwan in 2015, Asian Art Museum, SF in 2012, Cu Art Museum at Univ. of Colorado Boulder, CO in 2012, Samsung Leeum Museum of Art, Seoul in 2010, New Children’s Museum, San Diego in 2009, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin in 2007, and The 6th Gwangju Biennale in Gwangju, Korea in 2006 and Drawing Center, NY in 2004 and 2005. She also had a drawing performance in collaboration with a choreographer, Judith Sanchez at Solomon R. Guggenheim museum, NY in 2010. She is a recipient of Pollock-Krasner Grant both in 2011 and in 2006.
