New York, NY.  AHL Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting Korean artists, is proud to announce the “INYoung Solo Exhibition” as part of its Art in the Workplace program. The exhibition will take place at Bank of Hope’s Manhattan branch located at 16 West 32nd Street, New York, NY 10001.

This exhibition revolves around the theme of the roots of the landscapes discovered in the life journey of artist INYoung, who has resided in Korea, Singapore, and the United States. Showcasing works that fuse the cultures and traditions of each region, the artist, through the radiant brilliance of mother-of-pearl and the natural hues of Korean mulberry paper (“hanji”), expresses a conceptual landscape within a modern framework. Using “hanji” and mother-of-pearl as symbolic elements representing the flow of a millennium, the artist explores themes of light and darkness, the ephemeral nature of existence, and the enduring spirit of eternal essence. Through this exhibition, INYoung aims to engage viewers in a conversation about the timeless essence of life, transcending the limitations of our finite human presence. In-young, a graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Painting from Hong-Ik University and a Master’s degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, draws inspiration from 18 years of residency in Singapore and experiences in the United States. Currently participating in The Belskie Museum of Arts and Science’s Martin Hicks Gallery exhibition, the artist focuses on the interconnectedness of nature and art. The objective is to harmonize with the natural world, emphasizing the beauty and rhythms inherent in the environment.

 

This exhibition is part of AHL Foundation’s Art in the Workplace program, which aims to make Korean contemporary art accessible to all within the commercial spaces of daily life. Thanks to the partnership between AHL Foundation and Bank of Hope, visitors can enjoy the exhibition at Bank of Hope’s Manhattan branch until June 28, 2024 during operating hours (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM). 알재단, 인영 개인전

 비영리 한인 미술인 지원단체 알재단(AHL Foundation, 대표 이숙녀)의 아트 인더 워크 플레이스(Art in the Workplace) 프로그램의 일환으로 ‘박인영(INYoung) 개인전’를 뱅크오브호프(Bank of Hope) 맨하탄 지점(16 West 32nd Street, New York, NY 10001)에서 개최한다.

본 전시는 작가 인영이 한국, 싱가포르, 미국에 거주해온 삶의 여정속에서 발견한 풍경의 뿌리를 주제로, 각 지역의 문화와 전통을 승화시킨 작품을 선보인다. 작품에서 그는 자개의 빛나는 광채와 한지의 자연스러운 색감을 결합하여 현대적 틀 안에서 관념적 산수화를 표현한다. 작가는 전시를 통해 천년의 흐름을 상징하는 ‘한지’와 자개를 사용하여 빛과 어둠, 덧없는 존재의 본질, 영속하는 영원의 정신이라는 주제를 통해 관람객으로 하여금 시대를 초월한 삶의 본질이 무엇인지 이야기하고자 한다.

인영은 홍익대학교에서 동양화로 학사를, 펜실베니아 미술 아카데미(Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts) 에서 석사 학위를 취득하였다. 한국 태생으로 12년간 싱가포르에서 거주 후 미국으로 2017년 도미, 아시아에서의 경험을 바탕으로 자연과 예술의 상호연결성에 주목하여 작업을 지속하고 있다. 최근에는 벨스키 뮤지엄(The Belskie Museum of Arts and Science)의 마틴 힉스 갤러리 (Martin Hicks Gallery) 기획 전시에 참여 중이다.

본 전시는 알재단의 아트 인 워크 플레이스 (Art in the Workplace) 프로그램의 일환으로, 누구나 일상의 상업 공간에서 한국 현대 미술 작품을 감상 할 수 있도록 알재단과 뱅크오브호프 (Bank of Hope)의 파트너십으로 기획 되었다. 전시는 2024년 6월 28일(금)까지 뱅크오브호프 맨하탄 지점 운영 시간 내(9:00 AM –4:00 PM) 관람 가능 하다. 전시 관련 및 작품 구매 등 문의사항은 info@ahlfoundation.org
