Artist: Suyeon Na
Suyeon Na is a multi-media artist born in Seoul, Korea. She received a BFA from Seoul National University and a MFA from Pratt Institute. Her work has been widely exhibited at prominent venues in the U.S., Korea, Japan and India, including the Chashama Gallery, the Brooklyn Public Central Library, Textile Arts Center, ISE Cultural Foudnation, Austiran Cultural Forum, Dumbo Arts Festivals, SCOPE New York in the U.S., the Seoul Arts Center and Uijeongbu Arts Center in Korea, the Studio Kura in Japan, and the Jawahar Kala Kendra Art Centre in India. She has been selected as a participant for the NYFA Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program and awarded artist grants and studio spaces from the Vermont Studio Center, Chashama Visual Arts Studio, and the Contemporary Artists Center. Na is currently an artist in residence of the Chashama Visual Arts Program in Brooklyn, New York.
Artist: Jayoung Yoon
Jayoung Yoon is a New York-based artist born in South Korea. She is an interdisciplinary artist. She synthesizes hair sculpture, video, photography and performance to create an immersive, sensual and spiritual experience, which encourage viewers to rethink their own personal awareness. She received her M.F.A. from the Fiber Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, 2009. Before that, she graduated the Post-baccalaureate certificate program at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland, 2007. She received her B.F.A. from the Painting and Visual Communication Design Department at Hongik University in Seoul, Korea.
Most Recently, she was awarded the Vermont Studio Center Fellowships, 2015 and The Artist in the Marketplace (AIM) program at Bronx Museum, 2016
Artist: Nari Kim
Born in Korea, Kim lives and works in New York. She received her MFA in Combined Media from Hunter College, and a BFA in Sculpture department from Hong Ik University, Seoul, Korea. Kim’s work has been exhibited at the Daleware Center for the Contemporary Arts, Art Mora, Parenthesis Art Space and City Foundry in New York and Common Center in Seoul. She has held solo exhibitions at Space 776 in Brooklyn, NY and the 13.1 Gallery in Seoul. Kim was also the 2014 AHL Foundation MFA Scholarship recipient.

Received AHL Foundation Visual Art Award in 2014 and performed and exhibited his work at various venues such as Rush Arts Gallery, Greenpoint Gallery, Dacia Gallery, CATM Chelsea Gallery and a Solo Exhibition at Michael Mut Gallery. Live performances have included “Kids of New York” and “Real Bronx Summer Jam” at St James Park in the Bronx.
Guest Critic: Marco Antonini (Executive Director at Artists Alliance)
Marco Antonini, Executive Director and Curator at NURTUREart, is a curator and writer with more than ten years of experience. Antonini’s curatorial projects have been presented by Japan Society, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), ISE Foundation, Elizabeth Foundation Project Space, The Italian Cultural Institute in New York, Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation, Venice, The International Studio and Curatorial Program (ISCP), FUTURA Center for Contemporary Art, Prague, CCEG, Guatemala City, Interstate Projects and Abrons Art Center among many others. Antonini’s articles, essays, interviews, short stories and poetry have been published worldwide on magazines, journals, catalogs and other exhibition-related publications. His essay/lecture “The Obsolete in Reverse: Robert Smithson and Science Fiction” was presented at the 2014 College Art Association conference in Chicago. His most recent book projects are Golden Age: Perspectives on Abstract Painting Today (NURTUREart 2015), co-edited with Christopher K.Ho and collects essays and interviews dedicated to the return of abstraction in contemporary painting. and Experimental Photography (SHS/Vetro/Thames and Hudson/Prestel, 2015) a book of interviews and texts dedicated to experimental photographic practice.
Guest Critic: Jodi Waynberg (Executive Director at NUTUREart)
Jodi Waynberg is the Executive Director of Artists Alliance Inc, a non-profit organization that plays a pivotal role in launching and strengthening the careers of emerging and mid-career artists and curators through residencies and exhibition opportunities. Since joining AAI in 2012, Waynberg has curated several group and solo exhibitions including Liminal Inversions (2012), Philip Emde Destroyed My Life (2013), The Real Estate Show, What Next: 2014 (2014), American Monarchy (2014) and Little Gloating Eve (NYC and Milan 2014). Waynberg has also served as a visiting critic and juror at Residency Unlimited, The Wassaic Project, Hunter College MFA Program and NARS Foundation. Waynberg began her professional career in San Francisco as the Assistant Curator at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, where she curated and worked on numerous exhibitions including Chagall and the Artists of the Russian Jewish Theater, 1919-1949 and Maira Kalman: Various Illuminations (of a Crazy World).
