AHL Foundation Holds 2022 19th Annual Benefit Gala & Awards Ceremony

A Night Honoring Winners, Grantees, Fellows, Artists, Art Professionals, and Supporters in the Korean Community

AHL Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Korean contemporary art, will host its 2022 19th Annual Benefit Gala & Awards Ceremony on October 28th 2022 at the Church of the Holy Apostles in Chelsea. 12 individuals will take the stage to receive their awards, grants, and fellowships, including visual art award winners, artist fellows, researchers associated with the Foundation’s Archive of Korean Artists in America (AKAA), AKAA consultant and curatorial fellows. In total, $58,000 will be awarded to the AHL Foundation’s 2022 honorees.

Guests can also look forward to a seated dinner, an artwork sale, and a special art performance by A young Yu (2020yr Gold awardee of the Visual Art Awards) and Nicholas Oh, (2016yr Andrew & Barbara Choi Family Foundation Project Grantee). This event will be a platform for exchanges between various community members and a meaningful place to reflect, celebrate and inspire the vision of Korean contemporary art and the AHL Foundation.

AHL Foundation was established in 2003 to support Korean contemporary artists and art professionals active in the United States and promote Korean contemporary. Since then, the Foundation has expanded its efforts to include exhibitions, educational programs, workshops, and various other programs related to informing the art world and general public about Korean contemporary art. In 2022, AHL Foundation opened its first art gallery and an archive room at 2605 Frederick Douglass Boulevard in New York.

올 해 주목 할 한인 미술인이 한자리에

알재단 2022 제19회 베네핏 갈라 및 시상식 개최

한인 미술인 지원단체 알재단 (대표 이숙녀)이 오는 10월 28일(금) 오후 6시에 제 19회 알재단 시상식 및 연례 갈라 행사를 개최한다. 맨하탄 첼시에 있는 성 아포스톨루 처치( the Church of the Holy Apostles) 에서 열리는 이번 행사는 2022년 재단 주최 공모전에서 당선된 미술 작가와 아티스트 펠로우, 아카이브 연구원, 컨설턴트, 큐레이터 등에게 상장과 상금 총 5만 8천달러를 전달하는 시상식을 연다. 또한 2020년 알재단 현대미술상 수상 작가인 유아영(A young Yu), 2016년 앤드류 바바라 최 패밀리 재단 수상 작가인 니콜라스 오 (Nicholas Oh) 초청 특별 퍼포먼스와 아트 마켓 등 부대 행사가 펼쳐질 예정이다. 후원자 및 참여자, 그랜트와 어워드 수상자들간 활발한 교류와 알재단의 향 후 비전과 미래상을 함께 공유하는 장이 될 것이다.

한편, 알재단은 미국 내 한인 예술가의 발전과 한국 현대 미술을 목적으로 2003년에 창립되었으며 작가와 큐레이터를 위한 후원 기금 뿐만 아니라 전시회, 교육 프로그램, 워크숍 등 다양한 프로그램으로 한국 현대 미술의 지지층을 넓혀가는 데 앞장서고 있다. 2022년에는 맨하탄 할렘에 갤러리 및 아카이브 룸을 개관한 바 있다.
