2021 AHL Foundation Artist Fellowship Application Guidelines
Overview
AHL Foundation is pleased to announce the open call for the 2021 AHL Artist Fellowship. This open call Artist Fellowship will be awarded to established but under-resourced mid-career Korean American artists to support their creative endeavors during key moments in their artistic and professional development.
Four selected recipients will each receive a stipend of $5,000 at the AHL Foundation’s Annual Award & Gala Ceremony and also be given the opportunities to showcase their works at a group exhibition in Chelsea, Manhattan in Spring 2022 and participate in a mentoring program with the award jurors in spring 2022.
Established in 2019, The AHL Foundation Artist Fellowship was made possible by a generous contribution from the Dow Kim Family Foundation. The Dow Kim Family Foundation is a non-profit organization engaged in philanthropic activities in areas of education, social services, and arts & culture with a primary focus to help better and empower the lives of underserved and under-resourced Korean Americans.

Notification of Result: September 30, 2021
Eligibility
- Must be a visual artist of Korean heritage based in the U.S. (Commercial photographers, filmmakers, and dancers are not eligible for this fellowship. However, fine art photographers, video artists, interdisciplinary artists and performance artists may apply.)
- Selected winners of the Contemporary Visual Art Awards from the past 3 years are not eligible for the 2021 Awards.
