AHL Foundation, in collaboration with NOKSEOHOE, is pleased to present Vernal Fever, a nine-person group exhibition at the Bank of Hope Woodside Branch from March 18, 2019, through June 18, 2019.
This exhibition features artists Insook Park, Yunjeong Lee, Sunghae Kim, Hyunju Min, Minja Shinkim, Jeong Julia Lee, Hyunkyung Ryu, Younghee Kim, Jeannie Choe, all members of NOKSEOHOE. NOKSEOHOE is an affiliated group of NOKMIHOE, an alumni group of Art school of Ehwa Women’s University.
To celebrate this year’s Women’s History Month, the AHL Foundation’s 2018 Curatorial Fellow Hye Seong Margaret Tae has curated the exhibition with the artworks of nine female Korean artists who have been consistently working to create mixed media and abstract paintings. This group of mid-career artists has continuously worked with themes of nature and existence; the selected pieces reflect each artist’s in-depth insights into new energy and rebirth of life that comes with the return of spring.
The show is part of AHL Foundation’s Art in the Workplace program, which aims to present contemporary artworks outside of a gallery setting in a public space for the purpose of bringing art into everyday life and increasing its exposure to the public. Vernal Fever will be open to the public on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bank of Hope Woodside branch, 50-15 Roosevelt Avenue until June 18, 2019. The opening reception will be held on Wednesday, March 21st, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
