AHL Foundation Holds 2024 21st Annual Benefit Gala & Awards Ceremony

A Night Honoring Winners, Grantees, Fellows, Artists, Art Professionals, and Supporters in the Korean Community

The AHL Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Korean contemporary art, will host its 2024 21st Annual Benefit Gala & Awards Ceremony on November 2, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM. This event will take place at the Church of the Holy Apostles in Chelsea, Manhattan, celebrating the foundation’s 21st anniversary.

Seven individuals will take the stage to receive their awards, grants, and fellowships, including winners of the visual art award, exhibition grantees, and researchers associated with the Foundation’s Archive of Korean Artists in America (AKAA). In total, $30,000 will be awarded to the AHL Foundation’s 2024 honorees. Guests can also look forward to a seated dinner, an artwork silent auction, and a special art performance by composer, arranger, and conductor Jihye Lee, renowned for her unique musical storytelling and prominence in New York’s jazz and classical music scenes.

This event will serve as a platform for exchanges among community members across generations, professions, and backgrounds, creating a meaningful space to reflect, celebrate, and inspire the vision of Korean contemporary art and the AHL Foundation.

The AHL Foundation was established by Sook Nyu Lee Kim and her supporters in 2003 to assist Korean contemporary artists and art professionals active in the United States and to promote Korean contemporary art. Since then, the Foundation has expanded its efforts to include exhibitions, educational programs, workshops, and various initiatives aimed at informing the art world and the general public about Korean contemporary art. In 2022, the AHL Foundation opened its first art gallery and an archive room at 2605 Frederick Douglass Boulevard in New York. 알재단 21주년 맞이 연례 갈라 및 시상식 개최

한인 미술인 지원단체 알재단 (대표 이숙녀)이 오는 11월 2일(토) 오후 5시부터 저녁 8시까지 제 21회 알재단 시상식 및 연례 갈라 행사를 개최한다. 맨하탄 첼시에 있는 성 아포스톨루 처치( the Church of the Holy Apostles)에서 열리는 이번 행사는 알재단의 21주년을 기념하는 자리이며, 금년 재단 공모전에서 당선된 미술 작가와, 기금 수상작가, 아카이브 연구원, 큐레이터 등에게 상장과 상금 총 3만달러를 전달하는 시상식을 연다. 또한 작곡가이자 편곡가, 지휘자로, 독창적인 음악적 스토리텔링으로 주목받으며 뉴욕의 재즈 및 클래식 음악 씬에서 두각을 나타내고 있는 이지혜씨의 공연과 베네핏 옥션, 기념품 증정 이벤트 등 다채로운 부대 행사가 펼쳐질 예정이다. 본 갈라는 후원자 및 참여자, 다양한 연령대의 작가, 큐레이터, 뮤지엄 관계자 및 일반인이 참여하며, 알재단의 향 후 비전과 미래상을 함께 공유하는 장이 될 것이다.

한편, 알재단은 2003년 이숙녀 회장 및 미술 애호가들이 창립 하였으며, 미국 내 한인 예술가의 발전과 한국 현대 미술을 목적으로 작가와 큐레이터를 위한 후원 기금 뿐만 아니라 전시회, 교육 프로그램, 워크숍 등 다양한 프로그램으로 한국 현대 미술의 지지층을 넓혀가는 데 앞장서고 있다. 2022년에는 맨하탄 할렘에 갤러리 및 아카이브 룸을 개관한 바 있다. 알재단 갈라 행사 입장 티켓 구매 및 기타 문의는 info@ahlfoundation.org 로 하면된다.
